Into the Fire Updates Hub
Dates, patch language, and what Starward still refuses to lock.
This hub tracks the moving parts of Into the Fire while the product is still heading toward Early Access in 2026. It is not a live patch server. It is a reading order for public Steam news, playtest summaries, and interviews so you do not mix a 2024 Dante’s Ring teaser with a 2026 Ruins trailer and call it a contradiction.
Child pages:
- Open Playtest no.2 — live 31 August–7 September 2026.
- Release date — EA 2026, GOG, demo, consoles, Gamescom.
- Playtest notes — kick stamina, quake timers, perks, Ruins, hub feeding.
- Roadmap — what EA is supposed to add versus what playtests already contain.
Mechanical how-tos stay in guides. This hub answers “when” and “what changed.”
Where we read
Steam app 2988030 news, Starward’s YouTube, IGN Fan Fest 2026, GamingBolt and DualShockers interviews, Gematsu’s EA confirmation, and public playtest FAQs. We do not scrape NDA Discords. We do not invent a 1.0 date that the studio has not printed.
How to read a Starward post
They like to thank “Soul Seekers,” post community totals (runs, rescues, structures), then list systems. Translate that into wiki language:
- Totals = the test was real, not a trailer.
- A named perk or timer = the playtest notes page.
- A new space (Ruins) = extraction plus roadmap.
- A hardware line = system requirements.
- A date that still says 2026 = release date, not a calendar notification.
What is stable
Single-player. PC first on Steam and GOG. Extraction + camp. Extinguishing tools instead of a lethal loadout. Kraków studio Starward Industries, previously The Invincible. Former title Dante’s Ring. Those facts should not flip. If they do, this hub will say so in a sentence, not in a silent edit.
What is not stable
Stamina numbers, extinguishing feel, HUD, earthquake length, room names in camp, exact playtest schedule, demo week, console SKUs, price. Treat those as playtest weather.
Suggested weekly pass
- Steam news.
- This hub’s child pages if a post landed.
- Links if Discord moved.
- Your planner abort lines if a timer changed.
If you only have time for one child page this week, pick based on your question. “When can I buy it?” is release date. “Why does my VOD not match this build?” is playtest notes. “Will EA have an ending?” is roadmap. Mixing those three questions in one Steam comment is how threads become mush.
Also remember the rename. Search results still say Dante’s Ring. That is this game with a 2024 caption. The roadmap keeps the history so you do not wishlist the wrong capsule. The Invincible is the studio’s previous game, not a prequel you must finish.
Updates are how a pre-launch wiki stays honest. If a page in guides still quotes 420-second quakes after the 300-second note, ping the notes page first. The island is fictional. The patch history should not be.
Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers to the most common questions.
Is Early Access already live?
No. The target is 2026. Playtests are temporary. See release date.
Do you post every Discord hotfix?
No. Public Steam notes and interviews only, plus widely posted playtest summaries.
Where is the version number?
Starward rarely prints one in consumer posts. We date by the news item instead.
Will this hub track price?
When a store price exists. Until then there is nothing honest to track.
